About Fairway Shade

Why I created Fairway Shade

I had heaps of short-sleeve golf shirts, but I kept finding myself getting burnt on the arms and getting smashed by the summer heat here on the east coast of Australia. That’s why I created Fairway Shade.

I also wanted to make a golf shirt you could wear at any course, whether you’re heading down to your local or playing a round at Royal Melbourne. Something with a proper polo collar and a clean look that fits in wherever you play.

The idea was to keep the lightweight feel of a golf polo, with comfort and freedom to swing at the heart of the design, and give it long sleeves for extra arm coverage. All the things I wanted in a golf shirt, just with a bit more coverage.

Based in Maryborough, Queensland, we’re developing golfwear for everyone who enjoys a round, from first-time players to regular competition golfers. A proper collar, full arm coverage and an understated embroidered chest logo keep the look simple.

Our first collection features seven designs. Every shirt is custom made to order, with customer orders combined into supplier batches before being dispatched individually from Maryborough.

Sizes M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL are offered. Final fabric specifications and a supplier measurement chart are still being confirmed.

Where the name came from

My golf mates had a running joke that I spent more time in the trees than on the fairway. My excuse? “That’s where all the shade is, mate.”

That’s how Fairway Shade got its name. Now you can bring the shade with you, even when your ball finds the fairway.

Fairway Shade. All the shade, fewer excuses.
